Preparation One: For One Week Before Your Treatment…
Daily, take a balanced multivitamin and mineral complex. Male patients do not need to take a multivitamin that is supplemented with iron. Add to this 500 mg of magnesium, preferably magnesium citrate or another similar form. Do not take magnesium oxide unless there is no other option. This will help to protect your heart, balance your body’s electrolyte levels, and smooth muscle tissue.
A mostly vegetarian diet should be observed during the week before treatment. Eat properly portioned sizes of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and small portions of lean meats or fish.
Greasy foods, foods that have been heavily processed, and fatty foods should be avoided at all costs. You should also try to avoid excess sodium, caffeine, junk food, and sugar, as well as grapefruit and quinine, the latter of which is an ingredient in tonic water.
Make sure to drink at least 2 liters of water every day, and pay attention to your electrolytes. Drinks like Gatorade, Powerade, Emergen-C, and coconut water are good for replenishing your electrolytes (though some of these contain sugar). These should be drunk in the week leading up to your therapy.

Many people ask if it’s necessary to cut back or stop taking substances before arriving. While many facilities recommend this, it is not our practice to suggest this. Our treatment is designed to carefully assess and prepare a personal protocol for every client that helps AVOID withdrawal.

What Should I Bring with Me?
- Baggy and comfortable clothing, such as sweat pants, jogging clothes, or yoga clothes.
- Something you feel comfortable sleeping in.
- A couple of sweaters, depending on the season.
- A warm and waterproof coat, in case of poor weather.
- Sneakers or hiking boots – something that is solid and good for hiking or walking on the beach.
- Any toiletries that you may need, including a hairbrush, hair products (gel, hair spray, leave-in conditioner, etc), toothbrush and toothpaste, lotion or moisturizer, razor, contact lens accessories, etc.
While lightly scented lotions or moisturizers are ok, we ask that you do not bring any heavily scented perfumes, colognes, aftershaves, or essential oils.
